(I suppose) I'm not dead! -post  
I figured I would post a notice here, in case anyone checks it wondering why I haven't updated in ages (with the exception of a few people who I know luvvels me and would get this update anyway, and you know who you are). I haven't updated for a series of reasons-- first, I had extreme problems getting back home from Japan, and nearly had to go to the Embassy to beg them to send me home. Once that bit of stress was over, I was honestly too lazy to get back in the seat again.

Recently, I had finally geared up enough to write again, thanks to some friendly (and ever-so-slightly threatening) nudging by arcane and phoenixdown, and was finally going to start typing.

But right now, I'm truthfully not much in the mood at the moment, as I have a serious problem that won't go away any time soon, barring a miracle.

My parents might lose their house--my house--within a month, and end up on the streets. I'll be back at school, living off my scholarship (thank god, or I'd have been forced to drop out ages ago, with this crap economy), and living in a house with my friends until I graduate in May, but I'll have no home to come back to, and I have no idea where my parents will go. We've been running on fumes for a long time, and the fumes themselves have run out. We might get a turnaround in fortune (mom's a broker who works on commission, so you never know), but with the way things are going, I'm going to lose my family and my home, and have to try and start a life with bad credit, no savings, and no legs to stand on.

So, writing is a little far from my mind at the moment.

Something may work out, and I'll be spitting sunshine and shitting roses, but until then, frankly, I'm too damn stressed. No one's been bugging me about it and everyone's been giving me space, but I figured that anyone who was wondering and waiting had a right to know, if they wanted to.

I also get the therapeutic benefit of venting.

Hopefully I'll have better news for you in the near future, and I'll relax enough to continue writing. I have not and will not abandon(/ed) Fox Magic, as I have many, many fun things to spring on everyone, but it is on a short hiatus until things change enough for me to relax.

Twilight Zone  
Ok, my first post after the withdrawl was going to be about sakura and hanami (flower viewing), during which I ate great food, watched cherry blossoms fall to the ground, and saw a very drunk man take off all his clothes in full view of the entire park. Japan's sakura are definitely famous for a reason, and I was lucky enough to walk down streets positively lined with them on my way to and from school.

As soon as they fell, the bushes below them began to bloom, so you definitely can't say the city landscapers didn't plan this one out. Nagoya is gorgeous.

But, sadly, that's not why I'm posting.

I'm posting because I've discovered the japanese version of The Twilight Zone (or Outer Limits, since the show is recent and in color, I suppose), and it has FREAKED ME OUT.

If I had a good program for it, I'd sub the episodes I could find and post them.


Find it. Watch it. Freak yourself out.

Resident Evil: Go Extinct  
I just finished watching Resident Evil: Extinction. Now, I'm not particularly hard to please when it come to these sorts of movies, because I'm not expecting much. I greatly enjoyed Resident Evil 1 and 2 mostly due to their cheesiness (and the fact that the slow, inevitable zombie is by far my favorite, since it's less of an "oh well, I tried to outrun the tiger but it ate me anyway," and more of a "no matter where the FUCK I run, THEY'LL GET ME ANYWAY!!!!"), so it really wouldn't have taken much to leave me giving a grin and a thumbs up.

That said, the movie SUCKED.

Penis!!  
I went to the nearby Hounen Matsuri last weekend, better known as the Penis Festival. Yes, there is a festival of the wang, and it occurs in three different places at three different times of the year in Japan. It oh-so-coincidentally happened to be at a shrine within a quick subway/train ride of Nagoya. And oh, was there penis to be had. Penis cookies, penis suckers (I bought one in pink), frosted bananas shaped like penises...the list goes on. The actual parade (called the climax) featured a lot of sake and a giant, 880 lbs wooden penis (carved in anatomically correct perfection), followed by men and women carrying smaller penises. The men tended to shove their penises into people's unsuspecting faces, just so they could rub them for good luck.

And there was a man in a demon costume, but he was overshadowed by the penis banner right behind him.

I haven't had such a good time in ages. XD
